Ingredients

Bisquick version:
Yam version:
  • 2 lb white yams
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Bring the cups of water to the boilin the pot

    2. Mix the Bisquick and flakes together and add to the boiling water

3. Stir the mixture constantly for 10 to 15 minutes. Have one person hold the pot while another person stirs it constantly with a wooden spoon. The second person is important because you need to keep stirring vigorously or the mixture will turn lumpy and you won't be able to restore it.

4.Peel the yams. Chop the yams into large chunks

    5. Tip the fufu into a wet bowl. Shake it about and it will eventually form a ball. You may need to help it just a little with your hands; judge that as you go.

6. Using a potato masher, mash the mixture until it becomes smooth.
7.Tip the mash into a wet bowl. Wet your hands and shape into a large ball. Serve it
